Kentucky Lake is the largest lake east of the Mississippi River in terms of surface area, with more than 160,000 acres to explore. All this water provides ample opportunities for fishing, boating and just about every aquatic adventure under the sun. Known as one of the best lakes for crappie fishing in the country, it is also teeming with catfish, redear sunfish and several varieties of bass.

Two Kentucky state parks, plus numerous marinas dotting the lake’s 2,300 miles of shoreline provide all the resources you need to get on the water. Kentucky Lake is located in the Western Waterlands region, where adjacent Lake Barkley and the 170,000-acre Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area offer plenty more adventures for folks visiting this popular destination.
