Hopewell Museum is a museum which interprets the history and heritage of Paris and Bourbon County, KY and the surrounding geographic region. Although a small museum facility, Hopewell interprets history specific to African-American heritage, especially as it relates to the life of Garrett Morgan, the biological grandson of Confederate General John H. Morgan (Morgan's Raiders) and inventor/business owner/patent holder of various inventions including hair care products, the "smoke hood" used in fire rescue, and the modern-day electric traffic signal featuring red, yellow and green indicators.
