Travelers Cellar Winery
Our winery is the third small farm winery in Warren County. We are located in the charming and beautiful farming community of Rockfield. Our soil is known as Crider series and is the official state soil of Kentucky. This soil sits atop underlying phosphatic limestone bedrock and is well-suited for grape growing. Our vines saw great growth in 2018 and 2019. In spring of 2019 we planted an additional 210 vines. In the spring of 2020, we will plant 800 more vines of 4 additional cultivars! The grape varietals we are growing now consist of (Reds) Norton, Blaufrankisch, and Cabernet Franc. (Whites) Riesling.
While our young vines mature, we have sourced grapes from Scottsville, KY and grape juice from New York. We are currently producing 10 different wines: Noiret, Baco Noir, DeChaunac, Chardonel, Vignoles, Valvin Muscat, Blackberry, Strawberry, Peach and Sweet Tea! The varietals that we sourced from New York this year are the same as we will be planting in 2020 so there will be relative consistencies in the overall wine types offered. We produce a range of wines for any palate from sweet to semi-sweet, off-dry to dry.
Our cozy tasting room is open Wednesday-Saturday 12:00-7:00. The outdoor event area is perfect for corporate gatherings, retirement parties, karaoke parties, etc. We have several live music and food truck events every year as well as a myriad of other great events.
