Take a hike on a Kentucky State park trail with your furry friends – as long as they are on a leash. Many of these trails are pet friendly, but be sure to check with each individual park to make sure before you go. Kentucky State Parks also provide a limited number of pet friendly accommodations for an additional fee of $25.

#2 – Buffalo Trace Bourbon Distillery – Frankfort

Bring your pup along for several of the distillery tours and Buffalo Trace even has a White Dog Mash Bourbon.

#3 – Kentucky Horse Park – Lexington

The Kentucky Horse Park welcomes dogs and other pets to join their owners when visiting the park as long as they are on a leash or in a carrier. Pets are not allowed in the museums or inside the restaurant.

#4 – Mega Cavern – Louisville

Explore this massive man-made cavern beneath the city of Louisville and fido can join you on the 60-70 minute tram tour as you learn about the history of the cavern and mining operations, see cavern formations and a historic replica of a fallout bunker, and enjoy the many other offerings of the Mega Cavern.  Dogs must be on a six-foot leash at all times.

#5 – Patio at West Sixth Brewery – Lexington

Enjoy a craft brew with your pup on the patio at West Sixth and take a short walk on the first phase of the Lexington Legacy Trail.
