The main house (The Big House) is the historical two story, rustic, log home of Frontier Nursing Service founder, Mary Breckinridge. It has four newly restored bedrooms, a living room, sitting/reading areas, authentic fireplace, dining rooms and more. Additionally, Wendover has 12 more rooms in The Barn and The Garden House as well as a 3 bedroom Cottage.
Wendover is steeped with tradition from its displays of heroine nurses to its cozy fireplace. Guests travel from all over the US to be a part of this historical and inspiring experience. Your stay at the Wendover Bed & Breakfast and Retreat Center includes a hearty country breakfast with bacon or sausage, eggs, fried apples, and homemade biscuits with gravy, served in the 'Dog Trot' dining room.
Located just out of site from the Big House is The Livery which is a conference room that accommodates up to 35 people. This site is ideal for meetings, retreats, reunions or can be converted into a small venue for weddings, receptions or baby showers, etc. With its rural setting and majestic view of the Appalachia Mountains and the Middle Fork of the Kentucky River from the front porch, gatherings will never be the same again!
