Kentucky Breweries, Wineries & Distilleries

Bourbon may be king in Kentucky, but we’ve got plenty of other local options on the drink menu. From a thriving craft brewing scene in Lexington to a historically significant wine culture with roots in the late 18th century, our Kentucky-made beverages are all worth a sip. We’ve even got our own homegrown soft drink, Ale-8-One – a ginger-and-citrus soda that Kentuckians have treasured since 1926, with or without bourbon mixed in. Below, explore our craft beverage scene and start getting thirsty for your visit.

Kentucky Bourbon

Grain. Yeast. Water. The recipe for bourbon may seem simple, but the individually crafted methods of our master distillers – plus another integral ingredient, time – make it a drink for the ages.

Craft Breweries

Not to be outdone by our distilleries, Kentucky’s craft beers are in a class all their own – from rich stouts aged in yesterday's bourbon barrels to light and refreshing ales that perfectly complement a day on the lake.

Vineyards & Wineries

Kentucky isn’t just the birthplace of bourbon. It’s the site of America’s first commercial winery, cultivated in the Ohio River Valley beginning in 1798. Today there are more than 60 Kentucky wineries, many offering tours, tastings and bottles to bring home.
