“Specializing in restoring health and spirit in aged mares” is the Haven’s motto. Our Mims Retirement Haven is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, revitalization and care of retired thoroughbred racehorses and broodmares.
Fans and visitors are welcome, but by appointment only. Tours can be of an educational nature (including talks about general equine care or the specifics of keeping an older horse healthy) or a fantastic “show and tell” about the Haven residents and their famous races and/or relatives. The Haven does not charge for tours. However, donations are greatly appreciated!
