Farms all over the Bluegrass State, such as Old Friends Farm in Georgetown ,  specialize in giving former racehorses show horses forever homes.

There are also equine facilities that retrain these magnificent animals for a new purpose in life. Second Stride in Prospect, is a nonprofit transition program providing rehabilitation, training and adoptions for thoroughbreds at every stage of life.
