Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center

The Lyric Theater served as a thriving Lexington cultural and entertainment centerpiece in the 1950's. It hosted world-class African American entertainers and performers, as well as serving as the site for cultural activities of the local African American community. After undergoing an extensive renovation following a number of years of inactivity, the Lyric is alive again.

The mission of the Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center is to preserve, promote, present and celebrate diverse cultures with special emphasis on African-American cultural heritage through artistic presentations of the highest quality, educational programming and outreach, film, and opportunities for community inclusion.
