The Official 2025 Kentucky Visitor’s Guide showcases all of the incredible experiences travelers will have when exploring the Bluegrass. This year’s cover highlights keepsakes, photos and souvenirs from some of Kentucky’s most popular attractions, from bourbon distilleries and horse farms to fascinating museums, historic grounds, cultural centers and must-see natural attractions. Here’s a closer look at each item featured on the cover and some details on how each relates to a unique Kentucky experience!

1. Grains for Kentucky Bourbon

5. Derby Hat from Fromé Millinery

Kentucky Derby style, especially Derby hats, has become an iconic staple of the race and horse racing culture.  The hat featured on this year’s cover is from Master Milliner Jenny Pfanenstiel at Louisville’s Formé Millinery Co. 6. Black Bears

Kentucky is home to a growing black bear population, especially around Cumberland, the “Black Bear Capital of Kentucky.” Wildlife watchers will likely spot them roaming the Kentucky Appalachians.

9. Pottery-Making Tools

From the UNESCO Creative City of Paducah to Berea, the “Folk Arts & Craft Capital of Kentucky,” the arts run deep in the Bluegrass. 23. Hotel Metropolitan

B.B. King, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington were among the icons that frequented the historic Hotel Metropolitan in Paducah. The 1908 hotel was listed in the Green Book, offering a haven for Black travelers during segregation. Visit the museum to learn the history of the property and its famous guests.
