6 Kentucky Stops for a Great Cup of Joe

Kentucky offers coffee houses across the state that represent the heart of our communities.  So grab a cup and strike up a conversation and warm up at one of these six local coffee joints. 

 

1. Piper’s Coffee – Paducah 

 

Pipers is a coffee and teahouse serving locally roasted coffee, handcrafted loose-leaf tea and specialty carbonated beverages along with locally made baked goods. They feature art exhibitions, "Live in the Rotunda" music events and original poetry. Pipers is located in the historic Coca-Cola Plant, a Paducah landmark.

 

2. The Coffee House – Paintsville 

 

Located in the beautiful, historic Main Street of Paintsville, The Coffee House is a great place to grab espresso based drinks, including lattes, cafe macchiatos, cappuccinos and iced coffees. They offer homemade daily lunch specials and baked goods include donuts, cinnamon rolls, scones and other specialty items.

 

 

3. Far Out Espresso – Lexington 

 

Far Out Espresso is a groovy café, bar, and lounge located in the heart of Chevy Chase. Start and end your day with them from latte creations, a café lunch, and cocktails, Far Out can keep you entertained. Serving up locally roasted coffee and offering an all-day menu where all item can be made vegetarian (and most can be made vegan), Far Out Espresso has something for everyone to enjoy. 

 

 

4. Spencer’s Coffee – Bowling Green

 
Located in historic Fountain Square in the heart of downtown Bowling Green, Spencer’s not only serves up delicious specialty drinks but has also expanded to include a beer garden and is also home to Popworks! Popworks are artisan handcrafted frozen popsicles made with all-natural and locally sourced ingredients – check out the protein packed Avocado or the decadent White Chocolate.

 

 

5. Roebling Point Books and Coffee – Covington 

 

Roebling Bridge Coffee has unique specialty coffees and drinks, the latest best selling books and is totally dog-friendly.  And the best part, it’s located at the base of the beautiful Roebling pedestrian bridge, where you can stroll across and view the amazing city skyline.  

 

 

6. Please and Thank You - Louisville 

 

Calling themselves a "small-batch southern bakery and coffee house," Please and Thank You is as famous for their melt-in-your-mouth chocolate cookies as for their savory coffee flavor combinations.
